Common Conditions We Treat At Our Canton Eye Center

We’re proud to serve the Canton, Georgia, area with high-quality, experienced eye surgical treatment. We treat many different eye conditions at our Canton eye surgery center, including:

  • Cataracts. Cataracts are a normal part of aging and cause a clouding of the lens in the eye, which can lead to poor vision and even blindness. At the Milan Eye Center, we offer bladeless cataract surgery to our patients. This procedure uses a highly accurate laser to make precise incisions for more predictable visual results and faster healing times.
  • Dry Eye. A very common condition, dry eye is a normal result of the aging process, but it can also result from hormonal changes and oral medications like antihistamines or antidepressants. For many, dry eye can be corrected with prescription eye drops, but for some dry eyes still persist even with medication. Our doctors have performed numerous, highly successful punctal plug procedures, which block outflow from escaping the tear ducts, allowing the eyes to retain their moisture.
  • Macular Degeneration. Macular degeneration is a disease which can lead to severe central vision loss due to the weakening of the retinas. While incurable, the doctors at the Milan Eye Center use a treatment, for end-stage macular degeneration, called CentraSight®Telescopic Surgery. This treatment inserts a tiny FDA-approved telescope into the eye to restore some central vision. While it cannot restore vision completely, it does allow patients the ability to read, see family and friends or enjoy hobbies.
  • Presbyopia. This common condition occurs with the aging process and is due to the eye lens losing elasticity. When the lens loses its elasticity, it makes it difficult to see and focus on nearby objects. Treatments for presbyopia include corrective lenses, lens replacement surgery and LASIK Eye Surgery.

“Seeing Dr. Sajja was very easy and efficient. He was very thorough and professional. He was also very honest in what he felt needed to be done. He also had a very good bedside manner and was caring, nothing was painful at all. The surgery was a quick procedure and I was in excellent care. I was amazed that Dr. Sajja himself called me two days after surgery to check-up on me!”

“Dr. Milan Patel is an excellent, caring physician. From the initial exam through cataract surgery he was very patient with explaining the surgery and recovery process. I had both eyes replaced with new lenses and felt extremely comfortable through both procedures. I highly, highly recommend him!”

“I was scared of having my cataracts removed, but the doctor and all of the staff made me most comfortable. There was no pain & the recovery was short. I would recommend Dr. Desai to anyone who needs surgery. And the people who work there are just wonderful”
