Dr. Elizabeth Cappellari Brooks is an optometrist who is residency-trained in ocular disease, including in the diagnosis and management of anterior and posterior segment eye diseases.
A North Carolina native, Dr. Brooks earned her bachelor of science degree in psychology with a second major in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She then earned her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry, graduating magna cum laude. While at SCO, Dr. Brooks was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and was an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists.
Following graduation, Dr. Brooks completed a residency in ocular disease at the Baltimore VA Medical Center which included external rotations at Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. There, she gained extensive exposure to pathology including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
Dr. Brooks is a member of the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cycling, and spending time with her friends and family.
