Dr. Erica Bridges is a certified optometrist who specializes in comprehensive and medical eye care, with emphasis on the diagnosis and management of anterior segment disorders, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts. She is also well versed in the co-management of pre and post-operative ocular surgery.
Dr. Bridges grew up in New Paltz, located in upstate New York. She then went on to earn her B.S. in Biology from Siena College in Albany, New York. At Siena, she was a member of the equestrian team and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Her interest in healthcare and community service led her to pursue a career in optometry. Dr. Bridges attended SUNY College of Optometry in New York City, earning her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2013. At SUNY she became a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. She completed hospital and private practice externships at Woodhull Medical Center and Family Vision Care Associates, gaining extensive knowledge in ocular disease management and family eye care.
Following graduation, Dr. Bridges chose to remain in New York City to further serve her community. During this time, she became experienced in surgical co-management, working alongside ophthalmologists, seeing a diverse patient population. Additionally, she was a SUNY Optometry adjunct assistant clinical Instructor, teaching students in clinic, eventually earning the title of externship supervisor at Fromer Eye Center.
Dr. Bridges is passionate about healthcare and patient education, always striving to individualize each patient encounter, establish trust, and build relationships with her patients and their family members.
Dr. Bridges is a member and supporter of the American Optometric Association, the Georgia Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
In her spare time, Dr. Bridges enjoys running, horseback riding, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Flynn, and their dog, Piper.
