Dr. Sophia Johnson is a certified and residency-trained optometrist who specializes in medical and comprehensive care of the eye as well as co-management of ocular surgeries. Dr. Johnson grew up in Dacula, GA and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Kennesaw State University. She attended Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tennessee for her optometric education. During her time at SCO, she completed her clinical externship rotations at Milan Eye Center and Northwest Tennessee Eye Clinic.

After graduating from SCO in 2021, Dr. Johnson pursued a residency in Ocular Disease at the Memphis VA hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. There she gained extensive training and knowledge in cataracts, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease. During her residency Dr. Johnson completed a low vision rotation where she prescribed low vision devices to blind and visually impaired veterans.

Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Optometric Association and Georgia Optometric Association. In her free time, she enjoys playing pickleball, reading books, weightlifting, and cooking. She is happy to be back home and strives to provide exemplary care to patients at Milan Eye Center.
