Dr. Kate Lohman is a board-certified optometrist who specializes in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease, as well as co-management of postoperative refractive and ocular surgeries.
A native of Williamson, Georgia, Dr. Lohman earned her Bachelor of Science in Applied Biotechnology from the University of Georgia, graduating magna cum laude. During her time at UGA, she enjoyed playing intramural basketball and softball. She then continued her professional training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry where she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and graduated with high honors. Dr. Lohman also volunteered with several community outreach programs that provided free eye examinations and screenings to those without access to care while she lived in Birmingham.
During her training, Dr. Lohman gained extensive knowledge in managing glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease. She also specialized in co-managing LASIK and PRK refractive treatments, as well as cataract surgery and corneal disease.
Dr. Lohman is a member of the American Optometric Association, Georgia Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Optometry.
In her free time, Dr. Lohman enjoys weight lifting, biking, and spending time with her family. She also loves watching the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons during football season.
