Vishal Patel, O.D.

Dr. Vishal Patel is a board-certified and residency trained optometrist who specializes in comprehensive and medical eye care, including the diagnosis and management of cataracts, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, as well as co-management of post-operative ocular surgery.

Dr. Patel grew up in Tucker, Georgia and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Georgia State University in 2016. After graduating, he attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN for his optometric education. At SCO, he was elected President of the Georgia Optometric Student Association and was selected by faculty and administration to be one of ten student ambassadors. In 2019, Dr. Patel traveled to Campeche, Mexico with an optometric team to provide eye care to over 1,000 underserved locals.

After graduating in 2020, Dr. Patel pursued a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care at the Greenville VA in South Carolina. There he gained extensive training and knowledge in cornea, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and surgical co-management.

Dr. Patel is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association.

In his spare time, he enjoys watching UGA football, playing soccer and golf, and traveling with his family and friends.
